Default Lights as props

I have been researching and googling like crazy, as well as spoken to a few electrician friends.. but we are all a little stumped as to where / how you achieve the below look.

I cant seem to find out what type of light it is. All the flurescent tubes similar in size to this are required to be attached to a plastic backing that contains the charges and wires etc. I am yet to find a bare buld like the ones pictured.

I have also seen a similar idea with strip fluro's, not just the round ones.

Any ideas on where to buy bulbs like this or how to achieve this look would be much appreciated.

thank-you.

Casey

I'm not sure what type of light it is but why don't you send the photographer on model mayhem a message and ask him?

Default Mystery Lights

The look like just ordinary ring florescents. The junction where they plug in and the wires are probably Photoshoped out in the first shot and hidden my the crop in the second. The bulb is used in a larger commercial fixture. I did a spell as a janitor at one time and vaguely remember replacing them.

Default Ring light

It looks like the ringlight Joey L used in his Sessions DVD. He said they didn't make them or ship them to the US though.

And as an earlier response suggested, I'm sure there was some post-production work involved to leave just the light source.
